Kudos in development rejig
Endemol Shine Group drama label Kudos has reshuffled its development team, with divisional head Naomi de Pear moving into a production role.
Jo Strevens, who was story producer on Kudos-produced Sky/Canal+ coproduction The Tunnel: Sabotage, will replace de Pear as head of development.
She has been with the UK-based Kudos since last year, and will now focus on origination and scrip development, along with seeking commissions from UK and international broadcasters and bolstering the firm’s writing ranks. Before Kudos, she was head of development at rival Hat Trick, where she worked on shows such as The Suspicions of Mr Whicher and Case Sensitive.
De Pear, meanwhile, has headed development at Kudos since 2012, working on shows such as Spooks, The Hour and Humans (pictured). She now takes on a producing role, beginning with 6x30mins Channel 4 comedy drama Flowers. She will also remain a development producer.
Elsewhere, Chris Fry has been promoted to executive producer, and will work on season two of ratings and critical hit Humans, which is for Channel 4 and AMC in the US. He will also work on development, having previously been attached to shows such as The Smoke and Mayday.
The moves are the first major changes made since Diederick Santer and Daniel Isaacs were named co-CEOs, following the departure of Jane Featherstone.
“Naomi, Jo and Chris are amongst the smartest and most adventurous producers and development executives in the industry,” said Santer and Isaacs in a statement. “They have all played an instrumental part in the past success of Kudos and we’re hugely excited to have them on board in these new roles as we head into the future and further build our extraordinary line-up of iconic dramas.”
