Cisneros brings Estrella content to Cannes
The distribution arm of Venezuelan media giant Cisneros has inked a deal with Estrella TV and will be selling the US Hispanic net’s content at MIPCOM.
Estrella has a 7,500-hour library of finished shows and formats, which cover reality, musical-variety, comedy, scripted drama, talk and gameshows.
Cisneros Media Distribution will rep 15 of its show under the terms of the sales deal. Titles covered include reality series Rica Famosa Latina (Rich Famous Latin Women, pictured).
“Estrella TV has an outstanding library of content,” said Marcello Coltro, executive VP, content distribution at CMD. “And the combination of Estrella TV’s quality production with the Cisneros Media’s existing catalogue of original programming, third-party content, scripts, and formats, create a unique and comprehensive offering in the marketplace.”
The distributor will package the Estrella shows under the ‘Diversión’ (Amusement) banner.
