Zig Zag staffing up, poaches ITV exec
Zig Zag Productions has hired Andy Scott (pictured) for a new head of entertainment role, as the UK indie producer said today it plans to make several more hires as part of a senior management restructure.
Zig Zag said Scott’s is the first in a series of new appointments, who will become genre heads for factual, sport, children’s and factual entertainment.
The new hires come as founder and CEO Danny Fenton increasingly focuses his efforts on the US market. Zig Zag has got away shows including I Wanna Marry Harry in the States and has also co-developed formats with US prodcos.
The company told TBI that bringing in the new genre heads will free his time to develop new shows and sell them into the US.
Scott joins from ITV Studio where his credits included magic series Tricked. He has also worked at Cineflix Media, Objective Productions, Lion TV and before at Zig Zag.
“Andy brings with him fantastic experience in formats and entertainment. He’s known for clever, funny and highly original concepts, and he’s not only a great ideas man but one of the best practitioners in the industry,” said Zig Zag CEO Danny Fenton (right).
He added: “His appointment is the first in a series of new hires we’re making with senior executives who are experts in their field.”
“I’m delighted to be joining such a creative and dynamic company, at a very exciting time of rapid expansion,” said Scott. “Ambitions couldn’t be higher at Zig Zag, and I can’t wait to get cracking and hopefully create some hits.”
