SVT debuts oldest blogger, transsexual priest
Swedish pubcaster SVT is bringing programmes about the world’s oldest blogger and a transsexual priest to MIPCOM.
Life Begins at 100 follows the 103-year-old Swedish senior Dagny Carlsson, who began blogging at three years ago and now has hundreds of thousands of readers. SVT played it to strong ratings earlier this year.
Becoming Ann-Christine (pictured) follows Church of Sweden priest Åke Roxberg as he comes out as a woman.
Both play key parts in SVT Sales’ MIPCOM catalogue, along with European migrant doc Back to Lampedusa and The Art of Killing a Politician, which is about the hardships Guatemalan presidential contender Sandra Torres gas faced.
Doc series Gotta Dance! follows eight promising ballroom dancers, while Laleh – Not Ready to Die is an “intimate portrait” of Laleh Pourkarim, a popular Iranian-born Nordic artist.
On the kids TV front comes sitcom The Creepsons, which recently debuted on SVT’s children’s channel to a 72.1% share of 3-6s, while Door Code is a teenage web drama that has worked for Swedish 13-19-year-olds.
Rounding out the kids slate is Emotions with Eva; My Pet, Death & I; Pax’s Adventures of Earth; and Jecko & Jessie.
