Keshet hires US unscripted boss
The LA programming division of Keshet International has appointed veteran producer Rob Lee as president of non-scripted TV.
A former William Morris agent, Lee’s production credits include America’s Best Dance Crew and Motown Live through his Bayonne Entertainment and Elephant Walk Elephant production banners. He has also been head of programming at IMG Global as well as consulted to broadcasters and producers including ProSieben, Core and Zodiak.
At Keshet Studios he will develop the company’s unscripted slate, working on original projects and those originating from Keshet, the Israel-based broadcaster and media group.
Lee will report to Alon Shtruzman, CEO, Keshet International who said: “Keshet Studios has grown rapidly in both scale and vision since we established the company only a few months ago, and we realised an opportunity to expand further into the non-scripted space. Rob is an exceptional and unique creative force in non-scripted television as evidenced by his prolific, diverse and successful track record.”
Lee said: “Keshet has built an unparalleled and dynamic global business with massive potential to grow in the US marketplace. I look forward to partnering with Alon and Keshet’s creative team to identify and expand Keshet Studios’ non-scripted business through original production as well as harnessing existing global assets.”
Keshet Studios launched in July 2015, and recently entered into a first-look scripted programming deal with NBC Entertainment, which also includes a coproduction pact with Universal Television.
