Italian content market launching in Rome
This month will see the launch of a new content market in Rome, Italy.
Executives from Mercato Internazionale dell’Audiovisivo (MIA) are at MIPCOM this week promoting the show, which will be Rome’s first international content market.
Industry names already signed up include TF1 International executive VP Sabine Chemaly, FremantleMedia director of global drama Sarah Doole, Muse Entertainment CEO Michael Prupas, HBO Europe’s Anthony Root, Beta Films founder Jan Mojto, Sky Italian content chief Andrea Scosati and Tinny Andreatta from RAI Fiction.
The Italian Film and Audiovisual Industries Association (ANICA) and the Television Producers Association (APT) are behind the venture, with ANICA, APT, Doc/it, Fondazione Cinema per Roma producing and support from the likes of the economic development ministry. RAI Com, pubcaster RAI’s commercial arm, is also involved.
The event, held later this month on October 16-20, will focus on TV drama, documentaries, feature films, animation and video games, with the focus on expanding Italy’s involvement in international media industries.
