Viacom rejigs Comedy Central, MTV management
Viacom has implemented a new management structure at Comedy Central and MTV in the UK, giving Louise Holmes (above) a new programming role across both channels.
Holmes has been running programming at Comedy Central, but will take on the newly-created role of vice president, linear and multiplatform programming, which covers the comedy channel as well as music and entertainment service MTV.
She will oversee scheduling, acquisitions and programming across the channels. She will also oversee the editorial strategy of the services in 30 international territories, including Australia, Hungary, Israel and Russia.
Holmes will report to Jill Offman, who is managing director of both Comedy Central and MTV in the UK.
Offman said: “Many fans of Friends are fans of Geordie Shore and vice versa. There’s a lot of overlap between the brands and, under Louise’s astute leadership, I’m convinced they’ll be stronger working together.”
Elsewhere, Brad Wood has also been given a wider role, and as acquisitions director will work across the Comedy Central and MTV brands.
Another change sees Virginia Monaghan, who is currently vice president, music commissioning and content, MTV UK, take a newly created role, vice president, commercial partnerships and content, also reporting to Offman.
