Leftfield prodco grabs Israeli format
Israeli format Couch Diaries is heading into the US after Leftfield Entertainment production company Riot Creative optioned it.
The docu-reality social experiment series, in which foreigners live for ten nights on the sofas of strangers, comes from Artza Productions and is sold internationally by Armoza Formats. In Israel it is in a second season on the HOT pay TV platform and increased ratings 30% on season one.
Riot Creative president Stephanie Angelides said the format “presents such an innovative and creative premise”, and added it had “tremendous potential for success in the US”.
Leftfield launched Riot Creative with former Optomen Television executive Angelides in April, with a remit to create “smart and authentic” programming for linear channels and OTT platforms.
