AMC okays show with Walking Dead’s Reedus
US basic cable channel AMC has commissioned a six-hour series about motorcycle culture with cult Walking Dead star Norman Reedus.
Ride with Norman Reedus will follow the actor, who plays the popular crossbow-wielding and chopper-riding Daryl in zombie drama The Walking Dead, as he explores local motorcycle culture and history around the US.
Reedus will visit a different city in each episode with a riding companion, showcasing various bikes in each.
Left/Right Productions will produce the show, with prodco co-president Ken Druckerman and Baks Tarver (This American Life) executive producing. AMC senior VP, non-fiction and alternative programming Eliot Goldberg and VP, non-fiction and alternative programming Marco Bresaz will oversee the project from the network side.
“We love being the home of people’s passion projects, and there is nobody more passionate about motorcycles than Norman Reedus,” said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV.
