Netflix tipped to snag Power Rangers
Netflix is reportedly taking exclusive rights to the new season of popular live-action kids series Power Rangers.
The anime-inspired show, which is owned and produced by Saban, is heading into its twenty-fourth season with the US streaming company widely tipped to be making it one of their kids exclusives.
Should Netflix secure Power Rangers, it will launch on the SVOD service in 2017.
The show currently goes out on Nickelodeon in the US and season 22 is currently showing on the Viacom-owned kids net.
Saban, which took distribution rights to Power Rangers back in house from Marvista and now sells the show itself, renewed the Nick deal through next year, but the rights are up for grabs thereafter.
A theatrical Power Rangers movie is also scheduled for 2017. Collider was the first to report the series was heading to Netflix.
The streaming service has yet to confirm a deal for the show.
