Netflix UK, YFE among Toot buyers

Netflix in the UK, Disney in Australia and Germany-based YFE have acquired Toot the Tiny Tugboat from Twofour Rights.

The Channel 5-commissioned 52x11mins preschool show, which also runs on Cartoonito on UK pay TV, is based on Sebastien Braun’s book and follows an ambitious tugboat and his friends.

“Toot the Tiny Tugboat is a beautifully crafted preschool series that will delight audiences in German-speaking Europe, Middle East and Africa and it will be a pleasure to introduce children to his adventures and friends building on its success on Cartoon Network and Channel 5 in the UK,” said YFE’s executive VP, Paul Robinson.

Sold by ITV-owned Twofour Rights, Toot comes from Toot Enterprises Production in association with Lupus Films, Cloth Cat Animation and Boom Kids.
