SBS buys another Studiocanal drama
Australian pubcaster SBS has acquired another drama from French distributor Studiocanal.
The deal comes after the network bought The Last Panthers, which Studiocanal jointly distributes with Sky Vision.
Spotless, a ten-part crime drama about a man that becomes embroiled with the mob, will air on SBS2 next year.
“Edgy, funny and filled with danger, Spotless is the kind of drama series that leaves our SBS2 viewers wanting more, and we’re thrilled to have secured it for Australian audiences in 2016,” said Marshall Heald, director of television and online content at SBS.
Spotless, from Studiocanal’s French prodco Tandem Productions, debuted on NBCUniversal-owned cable channel Esquire Network as its first original drama on November 14.
