Nippon sets up in Singapore
Nippon Television has set up a new base in Singapore as part of wider efforts to expand across Asia.
The Japanese free-to-air broadcaster set up a joint venture with Sony earlier this year and the pair run the Gem channel in Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
Nippon has now set up NTV Asia Pacific. It will be run by Hidetoshi Hiramatsu, managing director, international business development.
NTVAP will, Nippon said in a statement, “take advantage of the many vibrant markets in Asia in order to launch new businesses that will contribute to the economies and cultures in the region”.
