ITV prodco making BBC panel show
UK pubcaster the BBC has ordered Insert Name Here, a new panel show format from ITV-owned prodco 12 Yard.
The show will be fronted by Bake Off co-host Sue Perkins. Each episode revolves around a single name and two teams debate who is the greatest ever owner of said name.
Team captains are comedian Josh Widdicombe and former television development exec and Pointless co-host Richard Osman.
ITV Studios confirmed they will retain rights to the format and will be selling it internationally.
The BBC will run the six-part show, which was piloted earlier this year, on BBC Two.
12 Yard is making the series with Black Dog Television, the UK indie that counts comedy panel series Have I Got News For You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Mock the Week among its credits.
Kim Shillinglaw, controller BBC Two and BBC Four, commissioned the series. She said: “From QI and Only Connect to University Challenge and Mock the Week, BBC Two has cemented a unique reputation for clever quizzes like no other channel and I’m thrilled that Insert Name Here is joining our line-up.”
