FBI raids offices of Imagina US subsidiary
The FBI has raided the offices of Media World, a subsidiary of the US arm of Spanish production and distribution group Imagina.
Madrid-based Imagina confirmed US law enforcement officials had searched the Media World facilities in Miami. The raid was part of the TBI’s investigation into alleged corruption and mismanagement at major world football bodies and affiliated companies.
Local reports said that a floor of the Media World offices was searched and employees refused access while that process took place. No arrests were reported.
The US business manages sports rights and the investigation is reportedly linked to the corruption investigation.
Grupo Imagina issued a statement this morning saying and Media World officials found guilty of offences will be dismissed.
“The Imagina Group neither permits nor tolerates any irregular or illegal activities or any activities which might represent an infringement of the company’s code of ethics,” the company said.
“Any individual or activity which may represent or have represented the commission of any irregularity shall be immediately dismissed from the group.”
