CBC buys pair of British dramas

The CBC has picked up a pair of dramas from ITV in the UK for its winter TV season.

The Canadian pubcaster has bought Jekyll and Hyde, the edgy new adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic, and three-part murder mystery drama Midwinter of the Spirit.

Both shows are on ITV’s flagship ITV channel in the UK and are sold by the commercial broadcaster’s sales arm ITV Studios Global Entertainment. ITV Studios produces both of the series.

CBC announced the pick-ups as part of its winter primetime schedule presentation yesterday.
