FX preps Louis C.K. toon, shelves Cassius
US cable net FX is piloting a new Louis C.K. animated show, while its sister net FXX has shelved another grown-up toon project, Cassius and Clay.
Louis C.K. will team with fellow comedian Albert Brooks to write and voice their as-yet-unnamed half-hour animated project. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to cover the news.
Meanwhile, FXX will not proceed with Cassius and Clay, the animated project from the team behind Archer that the cable net had piloted.
When it was first announced, futuristic buddy comedy Cassius and Clay, which has two female leads, was expected to be twinned with Archer as the spy series moved from FX to FXX for its seventh season.
The cable net has however decided not to take Cassius and Clay to series. Voice talent attached to the show included Susan Sarandon (Thelma & Louise) and Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent).
