BBC America gets on board Doctor Who spin-off
BBC America has come on board Doctor Who spin-off Class as a copro partner.
The US cable net, which is run by AMC Networks and BBC Worldwide, announced the news at its TCA presentation.
Class was originally announced by the BBC last year. Set in London, the 8x45mins series will target a young adult audience and is written by Chaos Walking novelist Patrick Ness.
BBC America joins production partners BBC Wales and BBC Worldwide.
The US cable net also said it will show British drama series Prey and a pop music special featuring Adele.
“With each of these shows we aim to cut through the noise and provide the innovation and originality our fans have come to love and celebrate,” said Sarah Barnett (pictured), president BBC America.
She added: “We’re excited about a fresh twist on the Doctor Who universe, an unconventional take on the crime drama that keeps you guessing at every turn, and an audience with the fabulous Adele.”
