NATPE: RCN to adapt BBCWW format

BBC Worldwide’s format You’re Back in the Room is being formatted for the Latin American market for the first time.

Colombian broadcaster RCN is remaking the show as Hipnosis: Un Juego de Mente, with indie Miracol Media attached to produce 15 one-hour episodes.

The format comes from UK producer Tuesday’s Child, which former Shine TV boss Karen Smith launched more than three years ago.

RCN will debut its show on February 14, with actor, director and well known television presenter Victor Mallarino hosting, along with comedy stage hypnotist Mustafa Badawy.

The comedy gameshow format sees five strangers take on five seemingly simple tasks while under the influence of hypnosis.

The news comes soon after BBCWW, the commercial arm of the BBC, sold Dancing with the Stars to Fox Telecolombia, which will format the show locally as Bailando con las Estrellas.
