Sky, PS71, Canal+ on MIP Drama board
MIPTV organiser Reed MIDEM has put together an advisory board of six top acquisitions executives for the confab’s drama events.
The group comprises Sky director of acquisitions Sarah Wright (pictured), Canal+ senior VP of international SVOD and global acquisitions Aline Marrache-Tesseraud, ProSiebenSat.1 executive VP of group acquisitions and sales Ruediege Boess, TV2 Denmark head of acquisitions and formats Anette Romer, Mediaset Italy head of acquisitions Zelda Stewart and Ignacio Barrera, head of acquisitions at Latin America’s Albavision.
It will meet several times a year, with a first task being to vote for and present the Buyer’s Choice Award at the inaugural MIPDrama Screenings on the eve of MIPTV: Sunday, April 3. This event will showcase 12 new dramas that were nominated by a jury of international drama showrunners.
“These are passionate and exciting times for drama players and viewers and they call for creative and inspired thought leadership,” said Reed MIDEM television division director Laurine Garaude.
“Today, we’ve answered that call by bringing together these influential and talented executives to play a fundamental role in developing new drama projects across the MIP markets, starting with the MIPDrama Screenings at MIPTV.”
