Lagardère Studios shops Belgian dramas
Lagardère Studios Distribution has signed a worldwide rights deal with Flemish prodco deMENSEN for a pair of dramas.
The French sales house will sell Beau Sejour and Brothers United – deMENSEN’s first drama efforts – around the world (except in Flemish-speaking Belgium and the Netherlands).
The 10x52mins noir thriller Beau Sejour comes from deMENSEN with the support of the VAF/Media Fund and was for local channel Eén.
It follows a woman who realises she is dead while chasing an assassin. The first episode has been selected to screen at the European Film Market’s Drama Series Days in Berlin next week.
Brothers United is also 10x52mins, and currently is at development stage. deMENESEN and VAF/Media Fund again partnered on the show, which is for VTM.
The coming-of-age story follows two brothers both seeking success as professional footballers, who are faced with destiny when only one achieves his dream.
“We are delighted to have found the perfect partner in Lagardère for the international distribution of our first two fiction series,” said Begium-based deMENSEN in a statement. “The experience Lagardère brings to the table is invaluable to kickstart our international ambition.”
