US SVOD service lands Oz drama, Brit comedy
Acorn TV has picked up Australian legal drama Janet King: The Enemy Within and UK comedy Very British Problems for its US streaming service.
Acorn, which is owned by Agatha Christie company RLJ, programmes its service with drama and docs from international markets.
Janet King, which is produced by Screentime and distributed by DCD Media, stars Marta Dusseldorp as a senior crown prosecutor. It will be on Acorn from March 14.
Very British problems is a fact-ent series made by Zodiak-backed prodco Alaska for Channel 4 in the UK. It is based on a Twitter feed of the same name and distributed by UK-based DRG.
It has celebrities including James Corden and Jonathan Ross recount their funny, archetypally British gripes. Veteran British actress Julie Walters narrates. It will be on Acorn from March 28.
