Channel 4 sets Schwarzenegger stunt special
UK broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a one-off, two-hour special in which action star Arnold Schwarzenegger’s lists death-defy feats caught on camera.
Arnie’s 50 Greatest Ever Stunt comes from UK indie Zig Zag Productions, and will see the actor-politicians chronicling daredevil antics such as Jean-Claude Van Damme doing the splits in between two speeding lorries and Felix Baumgartner’s supersonic pace freefall.
It will include commentary from fans, comedians and stunt coordinators, and takes a behind-the-scenes look at how many were performed.
Channel 4’s commissioning editor, factual entertainment Ian Dunkley and head of factual Liam Humphreys commissioned the show. Andy Scott and Danny Fenton are executive producers for Zig Zag, which retains rights for the show in the US and Australia.
“Arnie’s 50 Greatest Ever Stunts’ continues Zig Zag’s traditions of producing stand out list shows and who better to front a stunt special than the greatest ever Hollywood action hero, Arnold Schwarzenegger,” said Fenton, Zig Zag’s CEO.
