News brief: US SVOD deal for Detectorists

Acorn TV has acquired the second season of UK comedy series Detectorists for its US SVOD service.

Acorn, which is programmed with UK and international content, said it has also picked up a new season of UK cirme procedural Vera. That show is distributed by ITV Studios.

Detectorists is sold internationally by DRG. In the UK it plays on BBC Four in the UK. It stars Mackenzie Crook (The Office) as a keen amateur metal detector enthusiast.

Acorn is owned by Agatha Christie company RLJ.
