Chinese streamer launches Celestial horror channel
Asian streaming service LeEco has launched an OTT feed of Thrill, the horror channel operated by Celestial Tiger Entertainment.
LeEco (fka Letv) will run a linear feed of the channel on its service in Hong Kong. The Thrill line-up will also be available on-demand to LeEco’s wider customer base in mainland China.
“We are thrilled to be working with LeEco to launch the first OTT service for Thrill,” said Ofanny Choi, executive VP, TV Networks, Celestial Tiger Entertainment. “LeEco subscribers in Hong Kong can now get their fill of horror, thriller and suspense movies from around the world, anytime and anywhere.”
“This is the first and only self-composed horror movie channel in Hong Kong,” added Tin Mok, CEO for APAC at LeEco. “With the support of our big data, our expert team of programming specialists have scheduled the movies to best suit the needs and habits of our users.”
The launch line-up includes Asian horror films Meat Grinder and Spicy Killer and Open Grave (pictured).
TV series include supernatural investigation series Ghost Hunters and docu-drama When Ghosts Attack.
