Hulu brings Malala to US streaming
US on-demand platform Hulu has acquired exclusive streaming rights to He Named Me Malala, the new David Guggenheim documentary.
The doc will debut on the broadcaster-backed service’s subscription tier following its debut on National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Mundo this week.
He Named Me Malala is an intimate portrait of girls’ education campaigner Malala Yousafzai, who was shot and almost killed the Taliban in Pakistan due her outspoken advocacy. She is now a leading global campaigner.
Fox Searchlight Pictures released the film theatrically last autumn, in association with Abu Dhabi’s Image Nation, Participant Media and Nat Geo.
Filmmaker Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) produced it with Walter Parkes and Laura MacDonald, with Image Nation’s Mohamed Al Mubarak and Michael Garin, Participant founder Jeff Skoll and Shannon Dill executive producing.
