TLC gets Undressed with Zodiak Rights format
TLC has ordered local versions of social experiment format Undressed.
The female-skewing Discovery-owned cable net will have country-specific Undressed formats for its UK and Ireland service, and its Dutch channel.
The UK version of the Zodiak Rights-distributed show will run to 20x30mins and be produced by Fizz, a division of RDF Television, which is in turn part of the newly-formed Banijay Group.
In Holland, the show will be 12x30mins and made by Zodiak Nederland.
The format was created by another of the Banijay Group production companies, Magnolia, for youth-skewing channel Nove, which has just ordered another 40x30mins season.
In the show couples strip naked and meet for the first time, testing the theory that heightened intimacy accelerates the process of falling in love.
“The show is already a standout hit on Nove and is consistently delivering huge uplifts across all demos,” said Grant Ross, executive VP of global creative development and format acquisitions at Banijay Group.
He added: “As one of our strongest new formats we are pushing this one hard, both within and outside the footprint. We truly believe Undressed has the potential to be a big hit in many more territories.”
