Lion poaches ‘big-hitter’ from Twenty Twenty
All3Media-owned Lion Television has poached Lisa Edwards from fellow UK prodco Twenty Twenty.
Edwards has taken on the new role of creative director, factual at the Horrible Histories producer.
Lion managing director Richard Bradley said she was a “big hitter with a wonderful reputation in the industry”, who had a “very rare combination of proven success in independent production and a fantastic track record as a commissioner”.
Edwards has spent the last three years at Warner Bros. Television Production UK-owned Twenty Twenty as director of programmes, before which she was a commissioning editor of factual, features and formats at the BBC, where she greenlit shows such as Supersizers and Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents.
She was also commissioning editor at Channel 4, where she oversaw Hoe to Look Good Naked, How Clean is Your House and Property Ladder among others.
Last year, Lion handed extra responsibilities to Donna Clark, Simon Welton and Bill Locke in actual, entertainment and specialist factual, respectively, as part of a wider restructure aimed at growing investment staff and programme development.
Lion is currently producing more than 200 hours of programming across its London, Glasgow and New York offices. Recent credits include Pompeii: New Secrets Revealed with Mary Beard for BBC One and Marathon Man with Eddie Izzard for BBC Three.
