Federation taking buyers to Bordertown
Pascal Breton’s production and distribution group Federation Entertainment will give new Scandi crime drama Bordertown its international launch at MIPTV.
Federation produces the Finnish cop drama alongside Finnish prodco Fisher King for Finnish pubcaster YLE.
The series is still in production, but there will be footage for buyers and it has been selected as one of the twelve projects being showcased at the inaugural MIPDrama screenings.
The 11x52mins drama follows cop Kari Sorjonen who moves his family to a small town on the Finnish/Russia border in a quest for a quiet life. He soon, however, finds himself on the trail of a serial killer.
“Bordertown is a haunting suspense-filled drama that will take viewers to the edge of their seats,” said Pascal Breton, CEO, Federation Entertainment. “With the crime genre high in demand worldwide, we know that Bordertown has all the key elements to capture a global audience.”
Matti Halonen, CEO, Fisher King Production, added: “Bordertown’s compelling characters and gripping plot lines combine the dark elements of Nordic noir with warm family drama, culminating in a unique crime procedural. We are confident this series will be a gem for broadcaster schedules.”
