Tricon bringing Satan to Cannes
Tricon Films & Television will launch a trio of new docs at MIPTV including Satan Lives, a one-off film about the contemporary influence of the Devil.
The doc comes from filmmakers Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen who, having learnt that more Americans believe in the Devil than the theory of evolution, embarked on a journey to investigate modern society’s notion and understanding of Satan.
The HD film focuses on Satan’s role from the 1960s to present-day, covering devil worship, cultural reference points and how the notion of the devil has changed post 9/11.
Tricon will launch the Banger Films doc in Cannes. The Toronto-based firm’s sales arm will also have one-off doc Revolution (pictured), from Sharkwater producer Rob Stewart.
The environmental doc sheds looks at how we can save the planet and show past events have taught us how to save the future.
Tricon’s third MIPDoc launch is Lost & Found. The one-off follows post-tsunami efforts to track, organize and return items found during the clear-up operation.
