Eccho reveals Black Heart

Scandinavia-based Eccho Rights’ latest Turkish drama for the international market is Aka Film’s series for Show TV, Black Heart.

The scripted programme follows a brother seeking justice for the cold-blooded murder of his journalist sister, who was close to exposing a powerful media tycoon as a corrupt gangster. The brother exploits a young orphan girl to get revenge.

The series debuts on Turkey’s TV as Oyunbozan in April.

“We have created a modern mix on the traditional crime story with tales of family ties and passionate love woven into the narrative. It is sure to affect the viewers and create a new area in Turkish drama,” said Ali Gündoğdu and Asena Bülbloglu, producers at Aka Film.

Eccho has carved a relationship as a key supplier of Turkish drama, selling series such as Karadayi and The End around the world.

“Black Heart caught our attention with its clever script and story of how the hunters become hunted,” Handan Özkubat, head of Istanbul office, Eccho Rights. “It’s a great title that we’re pleased to bring to this year’s MIPTV.”
