PBS investigates Munich ’72 terror tragedy
PBS International is taking a 1x45mins documentary about the shocking murders of eleven Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games to Cannes.
Munich ’72 and Beyond tells the stories of the families of the dead, who were killed by the Palestine Liberation Organization, and their lifelong efforts to honour their loved ones.
It comes from The Foundation for Global Sports Development, with Stephen Crisman attached as director. The producers are David Ulich (60 Minutes, Nazi Gold) and Dr. Steven Ungerleider, and Michael Cascio (Restrepo) is executive producer.
PBS International, the sales arm of US pubcaster PBS, will also be at MIPTV with Nasser’s Republic: The Making of Modern Egypt and Ride the Tiger: A Guide Through the Bipolar Brain.
“We are pleased to add these titles to our lineup,” said PBS Distribution VP Tom Koch. “They highlight the diversity of our catalog and represent some of the finest independent filmmakers.”
