Eccho brings in ex-Endemol Shine sales exec
Eccho Rights has brought in former Endemol Shine International sales director Dorit Schilling and a new drama development exec, Karin Strandberg Blom.
Schilling (pictured) will sell Eccho Rights’ programming in German-speaking Europe and will also handle acquisitions and coproduction activity in these territories.
Schilling started her TV career at BBC Worldwide before moving to ITV, where she had various sales roles over a ten-year stint. She moved to Shine’s international arm in 2013 and spent two years there before exiting in the wake of the company’s merger with Endemol.
She is now an independent consultant and will work with other clients as well as Eccho.
“We are very happy to work with Dorit who is one of the most experienced distribution professionals in Germany,” said Fredrik af Malmborg, managing director of Eccho Rights. “We are confident that our collaboration is going to expand the Eccho Rights brand in these territories.”
Schilling added: “Eccho Rights represents a fantastic catalogue of series and formats and continuously works on adding new, innovative content and projects. I am very much looking forward to working with Eccho Rights and growing their business and client network in Germany.”
On the drama front, Eccho, which is the sales arm of Sparks Eccho Group, has brought in Strandberg Blom to work up new scripted projects. She has worked at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Sweden, as well as at Swedish film and TV studio SvenskFilmindustri.
