108 creates Chinese venture, SVOD app
Canada-based 108 Media has created a joint venture with tech company Viva Red and launched a mobile video-on-demand app called SeeMe.
108 China will operate SeeMe as an SVOD, TVOD and AVOD platform, offering programming in kids, live action, animation, lifestyle series, documentaries, travel, sports and concerts.

108 Media is “current in negotiations to secure some key international formats”.
China Mobile and China Telecom will distribute the app, with “major” Chinese broadcasters also expected to offer it.
The app is currently test in Beta and be available by the second quarter of 2016, withViva Red providing the funding.
“China has proven to be one of fastest and strongest countries in the world, from developing technology to delivering and consuming content,” said Abhi Rastogi, founder and CEO of 108 Media.
“There has been a growing demand from China for high quality, exceptional content delivered across mobile, VOD and broadcast. 108 Media in partnership with Viva Red are excited to launch 108 China and are ready to meet the needs of these enthusiastic content consumers with its exclusive slate of compelling viewing.”
