First Arab drama launches on iTunes
Arab TV and film content is on iTunes for the first time after Arab Telemedia added a raft of content to Apple’s online store.
Jordan-based producer and distributor Arab Telemedia has added 44 series and features to the iTunes Store
The company said it decided to launch the content on iTunes in the wake of research that showed a large proportion of Arab drama fans were engaging with other content on iTunes.
The first content will be available from June 6, to coincide with the start of Ramadan, when viewing time peaks in the Arab-speaking world.
Fadi Al Shwaihat, COO Arab Telemedia said: “This is a production company with high-value video content. It’s a perfect first step to extend its presence on a platform like iTunes Store,” said Karel van der Flier, CCO NEP, the tech firm handling the iTunes launch for the Arab prodco.
