TVP joins Globo’s international original
Argentinian pubcaster TVP has come on board Supermax, the original drama Brazil’s TV Globo is making for the international market.
Globo announced the series at NATPE, and it marks the Brazilian giant’s first wholly-original Spanish-language effort.
Daniel Burman, the Argentine filmmaker behind the Spanish version, has written the series, which Globo will sell internationally.
TVP Argentina, which runs the Canal 7 net, was confirmed as a copro partner at a press conference (left) attended by Burman, Argentina’s minister of media and public content, Hernán Lombardi, and Globo’s Raphael Corrêa Neto.
Production on Supermax, which is a drama set within the confines of a fictional TV production, starts at the end of the month. It will be shot in Brazil and Argentina
“This coproduction is part of a new strategic vision based on creating quality products for the region, using all the opportunities we have both human resources and natural settings,” said Hernán Lombardi.
