Lucy Lumsden forms prodco with ABC deal
Former Sky and BBC comedy chief Lucy Lumsden has formed her own indie, Yellow Door Productions, and struck a deal with ABC Studios in the US.
The agreement with ABC Studios gives it a non-exclusive first look at Yellow Door’s output.
Comedy exec Lumsden announced her exit from Sky last September after a six-year stint as head of comedy. Prior to that she was comedy controller at the BBC.
Patrick Moran, executive VP, ABC Studios, said: “Lucy is responsible for some of the UK’s most creative and internationally successful television. When we heard that she was making the transition to producer, we jumped at the chance to get into business with her.”
Lumsden added: “I love Patrick’s enthusiasm and appreciation for British talent. I’m looking forward to helping ABC Studios find scripted ideas that could translate for the US, while also developing a slate that will work for the UK.”
Her credits include Gavin and Stacey, Outnumbered, Stella, The Thick of It, Trollied, Doll and Em and Miranda, and she also wrote and directed short film Honeysuckle.
Jon Mountague has filled Lumsden’s position at Sky.
