Ex-FremantleMedia exec joins Asia’s Imagine
Former FremantleMedia Asia development director Adrian Brant has joined Singaporean producer Imagine Group Entertainment.
Brant (pictured) has been named director of development at Imagine, where he will be reunited with ex-FremantleMedia Asia CEO Patrick Schult, who joined last year as director of business development.
Brant is known for executive producing and directing the original Popstars format and for work on its spiritual successor, Idols.
He has also created adventure format Who Dares Wins, which has sold into more than 50 territories, through his own Mason Brant imprint.
At FremantleMedia, which he left last year after six years, he oversaw development in the Australian and Asian regions.
He has also worked at Nine Network in Australia, as CEO of Loco Entertainment and later TimeMachine Films, and at Screentime and South Pacific Pictures.
“Adrian combines a wealth of experience and an impressive mix of creativity not only as a creator of formats, but also as an executive producer and director,” said Imagine president and founder Riaz Mehta.
“I want to continue and expand the original formats and quality productions that Imagine Group Entertainment has been producing over the years,” said Brant.
“With over 30 years of broadcasting and channel experience, from factual to general entertainment, I believe Imagine Group Entertainment can bring a new insight into what networks and audiences want.”
