Nets clear schedules to honour Prince

ABC, BET and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network are among the US networks planning to honour influential musician and pop star Prince, who passed away yesterday.

Broadcast channel ABC will feature Prince: Death of a Legend today in the 10pm 20/20 slot, while OWN will re-air a 1996 interview Winfrey conducted with the enigmatic superstar.

BET Networks has begun a 48-hour marathon of Prince’s videos across its BET, BET Soul, BET Jams and Centric channels, and cable channel TV One will air a primetime special of News One Now celebrating the singer’s life.

Prince, born as Prince Rogers Nelson, died yesterday at his Paisley Park recording studio in Minnesota, after reports of ill health surfaced over recent weeks.
