Go90 has finger on original EDM musical Pulse
New mobile on-demand service Go90 has ordered a twelve-part mystery drama-musical set around the Berlin EDM dance music scene.
Pulse will follow an aspiring musician who travels to Berlin to find a missing friend, only to become drawn into the German city’s kinetic, hedonistic club scene that surrounds her friend’s inner circle.
Producer New Form Digital said Pulse would centre on American expatriates, “telling the story of a year in their lives as a lush and provocative EDM musical”.
Performer-composer Duncan Sheik will write and arrange the score for the show, which comes from Kyle Jarrow.
“People connect with stories through music and that’s incredibly important with Pulse where music is essentially one of the characters,” said Kathleen Grace, chief creative officer for New Form Digital, which is a co-venture of Imagine Entertainment’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer and Discovery Communications.
The show will be made available on Go90, which is a free mobile platform, later this year.
