Persson upped at Turner
Cecilia Persson will head up programming strategy for Cartoon Network across the EMEA region after being promoted at Turner Broadcasting.
As vice president of programming and content strategy, kids, EMEA, acquisitions and coproduction, international, Persson will oversee programming, coproduction and acquisitions across Turner’s linear and digital services.
She has been at Turner for over a decade, joining in 2004 as director of acquisitions. In the new position, she has been upped from VP, acquisitions and coproduction.
Prior to Turner she was at the Middle Eastern pay TV platform Showtime and before that at Carlton Cinema.
Persson will report to Patricia Hidalgo, Turner’s chief content and creative officer, kids, EMEA, and kids strategy, international.
Former Disney exec Hidalgo said: “There’s never been a more important time to bring together teams that produce winning programming strategies with those that source and create the best programmes our audiences crave across all platforms.”
