C5 orders bike series Tour De Celeb

Channel 5 has greenlit Tour De Celeb, an entertainment series that will see celebrities training to take on a stage of the Tour de France.

The eight stars will have three months to prepare for the L’Etape du Tour, a cycling event that mirrors a stage of the Tour de France bike race, which is considered one of the most gruelling sporting events in the world.

The celeb line-up includes model Jodie Kidd, Made in Chelsea and TOWIE reality TV stars Hugo Taylor and Lucy Mecklenburgh, and former rugby player Austin Healey, as well as Pineapple Dance Studios star Louie Spence.

The stars will be trained by medal-winning cyclists Dame Sarah Storey and Rob Hayles.

Scotland’s STV Productions will produce the four-part series, which was greenlit by Channel 5 commissioning editor Ninder Billing.

Dan Korn (pictured), who left Discovery last year before resurfacing at STV, will exec produce.
