Yes deal for Harlan Coben’s The Five
Israeli pay TV platform Yes has acquired The Five, the UK drama from bestselling writer Harlan Coben.
The series was made for Sky’s Sky1 channel in the UK byprodco Red, which is part of the StudioCanal group.
The mystery thriller follows events taking place after evidence surfaces suggesting a child who went missing years earlier is actually alive.
“As Harlan Coben is one of the most popular writers in Israel, the decision to bring our viewers his first made-for-the-screen story seemed only natural,” said Danna Stern, vice president, acquisitions, channels and programming, Yes.
She added: “The Five’s plot structure builds suspense in a way that practically begs to be binge-watched.”
Harlan Coben, in partnership with Red’s Nicola Shindler, recently launched Final Twist Productions, a US-based prodco that will develop contemporary drama for the American market.
The series is distributed by StudioCanal.
