Blink poaches Boomerang exec producer
British producer Blink Films has expanded its team by drafting in Boomerang executive Jon Lloyd as creative director of popular factual.
This comes soon after Tin Roof Media bought a majority stake in London-based Blink, which is behind shows including Secret Nazi Files and The Brain with David Eagleman.
Lloyd was most recently executive producer at Twofour Group-owned Boomerang, where he oversaw Posh Pawn and Posh Pawnbrokers for Channel 4 in the UK. He has also worked at ITV Studios, RDF and Studio Lambert.
At Blink, he will work with company chiefs Dan Chambers, Justine Kershaw and Sarah Sapper in the UK, and Brad Kohlenstein in the US, who was recently hired to lead a push into American unscripted television.
“Jon has produced some of the UK’s most notable and award-winning popular factual series and formats and we are thrilled that he is joining our expanding creative team to broaden our reach into new genres,” sad Chambers and Kershaw in a statement.
“We are confident he will help to rapidly build the company’s portfolio of productions, including our increased push into factual entertainment and features for both a UK and global audience.”
Following a deal earlier this year, Blink is now part of Tin Roof Media, which industry veterans Neil Court, Charles Wace and Charles Ogilvie’s Tin Roof Media launched earlier this year backed by UK private equity firm Rockpool Investments.
