Televisa SVOD net takes Imira package

Televisa’s Latin American SVOD service, Blim, has bought eight children’s series from Spanish distributor Imira Entertainment.

The deal hands the platform the Imira-produced Lucky Fred (pictured), Lola & Virginia, Sandra the Fairytale Detective, Aurora World’s Yoohoo & Friends, SpeedRacer Next Generation from Imira parent Toonz Entertainment, Zodiak Kids’ Martin Mystery, Xilam’s A Kind of Magic, and Finbar and QB9’s Gaturro the Series.

Blim launched earlier this year, as Mexican network Televisa looks to reach younger audiences rejecting linear broadcasting.

A separate spate of deals Imira has closed see Clan, Spanish pubcaster RTVE’s kids network acquiring live action comedy adventure series Jamillah & Aladdin, with Al Jazeera Media Network taking MENA rights, SVT buying it for Sweden and NRK snapping it up for Norway.

Kindle Entertainment, Toonz and Mediabiz are coproducing the 52x11mins seres for UK channels CBBC and CBeebies.
