RTL sets up German Power Couple
German free TV powerhouse RTL has ordered a local version of the Israeli-originated format Power Couple.
The reality show, which will be called Das Sommerhaus der Stars – Kampf der Promipaare in Germany, will launch on RTL in a primetime slot next month.
The show will run to four 90-minute episodes.
The format has celebrity couples tested on their knowledge of one another and taking part in various challenges.
Local prodco Beta Film-backed Seapoint, which made the German Dancing with the Stars, will make the RTL show.
Israeli prodco Abot Hameiri, which is now part of FremantleMedia, created Power Couple. It distributed by Dori Media, which struck the German deal having already sold it into Brazil, Slovenia, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, the US, China and India.
