NBCU lines up first German drama
NBCUniversal International Networks is set to produce its first original drama out of Germany.
The Comcast-owned entertainment group’s managing director, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Katharina Behrends told DWDL.de that crime-themed channel 13th Street had commissioned a 4x25mins psychological drama miniseries.
Production and casting plans are underway, with Readymade Films attached to produce, but Behrends declined to reveal more.
She also noted 13th Street has acquired North American miniseries Slasher, which Content Television distributes, and noted Universal Channel had bought rights to NBC comedy Superstore, which will debut in September.
In Germany, NBCU operates its Universal Channel, 13th Street, Syfy and E! Entertainment, and also operates History and A&E from the A+E Networks group as joint ventures.
