Big Light poaches Eleven’s Hall for COO post

Frank Spotnitz’s company, Big Light Productions, has hired Jamie Hall from rival prodco Eleven Films as COO.

Hall was previously Eleven’s head of production and business affairs, but will now work out of Big Light’s UK headquarters to oversee strategic partnerships and project financing.

Big Light’s current slate includes CBS-Global-TF1-RTL coproduction procedural Ransom, CraveTV comedy-drama The Indian Detective, and Medici: Masters of Florence, which stars Dustin Hoffman and debuts on Rai in Italy this autumn.

It is also a coproducer on Amazon’s drama The Man in the High Castle (pictured), though Spotnitz is no longer showrunner on the series.

Hall, meanwhile, oversaw series such as The Enfield Haunting, which Entertainment One has sold well internationally, and Channel 4 youth murder-mystery drama Glue. He also worked as group head of production at All3Media-owned Lime Pictures, where was in charge of shows such as BBC One’s Apparitions, ITV’s Bonkers and ITV2’s reality hit The Only Way is Essex.

“Jamie has a true entrepreneurial spirit, which is uniquely matched to Big Light and the ambitions for our growing company,” said Spotnitz. “His background in production, coupled with his wide business knowledge, is an invaluable asset as we tell stories from Europe and all over the world.”

Big Light, in which UK-based Greenbird Media owns a stake, launched a French office last year, hiring former Canal+ commissioner Lorraine Sullivan to oversee it.
