Cartoon Network launching streaming apps in Asia
Cartoon Network is about to launch two new apps in association with Globe Telecoms in the Philippines.
The authenticated apps will be available to customers of Globe, the country’s top-ranked mobile brand.
The Cartoon Network Watch and Play app allows viewers to stream the linear channel and access content on-demand.
Cartoon Network Anything, meanwhile, will allow Cartoon fans to watch the net’s shortform content.
Turner has already launched the apps in Asia, but both will be available via Globe in an updated form.
Phil Nelson, Turner’s managing director for Southeast Asia, said: “Offered to Globe customers, these products provide a convenient avenue for Filipinos to enjoy the most popular kids’ content wherever they are, and in a safe and flexible way.”
Globe chief commercial officer Albert De Larrazabal said: “Globe strives to provide the best service that includes premium entertainment from strong international partnerships like Turner’s Cartoon Network.
“Moving forward, customers can also expect more good news from Globe and Cartoon Network.”
