60 Days In producer backs new indie
The US producer of A+E 60 Days In, Lucky 8, has created a new joint venture prodco with Courtney and Audra Smith, the husband and wife producing pair who count Undercover Boss among their credits.
The new unscripted firm will be called Turn Card Content.
The team have previously joined forces on Food Network series Kids BBQ Championship and will now work up new format ideas. Turn Card said it already has series in development for various networks and digital platforms.
Two of Lucky 8’s cofounders, Kim Woodard and Greg Henry, said in a statement: “Lucky 8 is proud to be launching Turn Card Content with Courtney and Audra, two of the most skilled and dynamic producers in our industry. Their expertise developing and producing family and lifestyle programming, as well as feature documentaries, will help broaden Lucky 8’s scope.”
The Smiths added in their statement: “The Lucky 8 team brings so much integrity to the unscripted television world, and we are honored to be in business with them. We look forward to growing our partnership, while delivering a distinctive voice to the unscripted community.”
